Railway station

It was built in 1846, the year when Celje saw the arrival of the first train.

After the completion of the entire track, the railway connected the town with Vienna and Trieste, spurring economic development and demographic growth. Celje gradually broke from the narrow provincial confines and opened itself to the world.
