Equestrian centre Škofja vas

Celje Equestrian Club centre is located in Škofja vas near Celje. The club's tradition spans 50 years. Today, the club includes around 120 members, several of which are regular competitors. The atmosphere between the instructors and the riders is relaxed and open. If you are interested, if you are a friend of the animals, and enjoy pleasant company, then join them! Several activities are offered at the centre: beginner and advanced riding courses, riding school, and jumping classes. Examinations for the titles Rider 1 and Rider 2 can be passed there, as well as examinations for competitor's license.

The club also offers hippotherapy, a special physical therapy method that uses the characteristic movement of a horse to improve a child's posture, balance, coordination, and overall function. Hippotherapy has unique and irreplaceable benefits. The patient's body is placed in a seated position, and motor patterns are stimulated which are very much akin to human walking.

The club also offers other types of equine-assisted therapy. This interesting method is derived from a number of pedagogic, psychological, psychotherapeutic, and socially integrative approaches. The user is approached in a holistic way as all areas of human action are equally engaged: motor, cognitive, social, and emotional.
